PADA Studios with the financial support of Câmara Municipal do Barreiro has developed an arts award for visuals artists.
This bursary is focused in supporting 3 recently graduated artists who would benefit from PADA´s residency programme and facilities.

PADA Studios with the financial support of Câmara Municipal do Barreiro has created an arts bursary programmed focused in assisting the professional development of local artists.
Candidates will be selected to attend the programme for three months, between the following months:
Season 1: October, November & December 2023 (completed)
Season 2: February, March & April 2024 (on going)
Season 3: May, June & July 2024 (open call in progress)
Programme
The bursary includes the following facilities, activities and support:
Facilities
Private studio
Access to metal and wood workshop.
All communal facilities (library, kitchen, living area)
Visits PADA will host a tour of independent galleries, museums and artist led spaces in Lisbon once a month introducing each artist to the diverse artistic scene.
Exhibition The three selected artists will feature in an exhibition in Galeria PADA in 2024. This will include professional documentation and catalogue.
Documentation. Each project will be professionally documented (video and photography) and shared via PADA´s channels.
Support
Curatorial. There will be curatorial support to help selected artists develop their practice.
Technical Support As well as workshops artists will be provided with technical assistance to help fabricate projects.
Mentoring PADA will look to encourage and develop each artists professional practice and network throughout the 3 months.
Guest Artists and Curators PADA will invite artists, curators and galleries from Lisbon to talk to the artists during their stay.
Professional Development. As an international residency, Artists will have the opportunity and access to expand their contacts and opportunities.

Portfolio (5 -10 images) Include dimensions, technique, title and date in the image tittle
Project proposal (max. 250 words) Outline your residency project, motivation & expectations

Selection Criteria
Artists will be selected based in their project proposal.
PADA will give preference to proposals from artists living in Barreiro or projects looking to research about the location.
Other preferences include:
Recent graduate in visual arts (no more than 5 years)
Available and commitment to develop the project proposed during the 3 months of the bursary
As an international residency, artists applying must be comfortable communicating in English
